I fell in love with the Happy Harvest stamp set from WPlus9 the moment I laid eyes on it. I'm not even what I'd consider a country girl in the least. But, this set is just so fun! I've been wanting to make a project with it ever since it was released and the Monday Mood Board challenge over at WPlus9 was the perfect motivation!
The green, yellow, and red color palette of this week's mood board just screamed "country" to me, so I pulled out the Happy Harvest set and went to town!

I used the coordinating die set to easily pop-up the elements for added dimension. The hills were created with PTI paper and dies. The sunshiny background was created doing an ombre inking effect with PTI's Hello Sunshine stamp set.
I included a few details that are easily lost in photos, including heat-embossing the apples and pail handles to make them look shiny. I even took the extra time to line the card base and stamp a coordinating design inside!
I just love this set! It makes it so easy to create a fun, homegrown card from the heart!

I used all ME stamps for my project and all PTI inks and papers. I used the MIM 2-toned effect on the feathers starting at the top with Royal Velvet ink, working on down with Plum Pudding, Winter Wisteria, and finally Lavender Moon.
I de-bossed the background with a woodgrain impression plate, sewed a seam near the spine and added some little pearls purchased at Michaels.
So what are your thoughts on feathers? Are they all the rage in your book?

This month's PTI Blog Hop challenge is to create a project incorporating a monogram. Hmmm. Monograms are not something I have done before ... challenge accepted! :) If you would like to check things out for yourself, you can find out all about it here.
I tried my hand at 3 different monogram cards. I have ideas for 2 more, but alas don't have the time to do them. Aack! Who knew Monograms could be so inspiring??
My first 2 projects I were made with the intentions of entering them into additional challenges, SSS White-on-White challenge and CASology's keyword "Flame" challenge. However, I did not plan ahead to realize those challenges would be done and over before today! hahaha! Oh well. :)
My first card was created with the "Flame" keyword challenge in mind. It uses all PTI supplies with a little glossy accents on the letter die-cut.
My second card was created with the White-on-White challenge in mind. I de-bossed the card panel with some stitched rectangle dies, popped-up a clear, heat-embossed PTI frame die-cut with the herringbone background stamp using foam dimensionals, and added the bling-covered Headline Alphabet die-cut letter.

My last card today will end up being part of a notecard set for my DD's teacher. We just love her teacher this year and have been trying to spoil her with lots of handmade goodies. We've received lots of thank you cards from her this year and thought we might gift her a notecard set to replenish her supply.
My DD's teacher is Italian and has a cooking theme for her classroom. I found this great recipe box at the Target dollar spot that came with recipe cards. I thought it would make the perfect notecard gift box! I cut off the decorative strip from the bottom of the recipe card and used it as a border on my card. I used a rustic white card base topped with Pure Poppy gingham PP cut at an angle, adhered the border strip from the recipe card, and stamped the monogram using the Headline Alphabet set. I thought the monogram looked a little plain, so I stamped a couple of dots from the Ikat stamp set on either side of it.

I recently had the time to try out Besty Veldman's great tutorial to achieve a chalkboard art look with our stamps. It was so much fun, that I knew I wanted to try it out again. What better subject for a chalkboard-look project than a card for my DD's awesome teacher! As a bonus - I'll have that end-of-the-year thank you all done and ready to go. :)
When PTI came out with their Teach & Inspire set, I knew it would go straight into my cart! The sentiment included is the motto for my DD's school. I LOVE that!

Hello! I decided to participate in a couple of challenges this week. First off is Waltzingmouse Blog Party. I've never participated before, but thought this month's challenge was too sweet to pass up! The theme is LOVE and the challenge was to make a project using WMS stamps that showcase your idea of love. If you would like to check it out for yourself, you can find all the details here.

For this challenge, my idea of love is a little gift for my DD's teacher. What better way to show your love for your teacher than with a little gift of health and well-being! :) With all those flu germs spreading like crazy, I decided to put an idea from Erin Lincoln to good use and make my DD's teacher a hand sanitizer cozy. With a little help from my mom (and the internet), she taught me how to crochet ... well, just enough to learn how to make this cozy! haha!
I put my stitching skills to test (they could use a little practice) on decorating my felt cutouts. My DD's teacher's favorite colors are black, red, and white, so that was my color palette. Perfect for a Valentine's gift, no?
I couldn't give a gift without wrapping it up just a little special, right? hehe
I used Betsy Veldman's great instructions for getting the chalkboard look to make a super cute tag. I love how it turned out!
Wrap it all up in a glassine bag and we have ourselves a sweet little handmade gift:

FYI - I found that my kids' crayola white pencil didn't do the job. I had to dig into my stash of art supplies from my high school years to get a Berol brand and it worked great! Bonus - I had two white pencils in that stash!

I decided to take advantage of this week's challenge to make the project I was working on extra special. I can't say I would have ever made an entire tag covered in glitter if it weren't for Heather's tutorial, but oh, do I ever like the results! Take a look and let me know what you think ...
I made a thank-you card set for my daughter's teacher. She loves cooking, but I don't have any cooking-themed stamp sets. So, I went for the cutest alternative ... Gingerbread Lane. I just love that set!
I made a set of cards based off of a design I had made earlier. Pretty much a CASEing of this house design done by the ever so talented, Danielle.
I chose Pure Poppy, Sweet Blush, Aqua Mist, Vintage Cream, and Dark Chocolate for my color scheme.
