This month's PTI Blog Hop challenge is to gleam inspiration from the above photo and use it to have fun experimenting with fabric & felt. I love all of the fun fabric goodness found in the inspiration photo! If you would like to check things out for yourself, you can find out all about it here.
For this challenge I decided to use some satin fabric to dress-up a special anniversary card for my In-Laws. I even cleared a path to the sewing machine for this one! Lol!
The card base is clear embossed PTI Soft Stone, layered with patterned paper by DCWV. I stacked multiple layers with foam adhesive for depth and dimension. I used Melissa Phillips' die-cutting fabric technique to die cut a flourish and some rolled roses. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the fabric really adds a special touch to the die cuts. I stamped the beautiful sentiment from PTI's Happy Hydrangea stamp set in Ocean Tides ink and clear embossed it. There is also a couple of clear embossed flowers from PTI's 2012 Anniversary set, Pretty Peonies framing the sentiment. I added a trio of pearls, because what anniversary card would be complete without them, am I right? :)
I added a liner stamped with a couple of flowers & leaves from the Pretty Peonies stamp set in Spring Moss & Aqua Mist, as well as a sentiment from Think Big Favorites #16 in Ocean Tides ink.
This card is totally different from my typical MO, but I'm quite pleased with it. On a side note, I do love it when I have cards to make that will be hand-delivered, because then I can play around with big bulky embellishments, which is so much FUN!
Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
