This month's PTI Blog Hop challenge is to create a project incorporating a monogram. Hmmm. Monograms are not something I have done before ... challenge accepted! :) If you would like to check things out for yourself, you can find out all about it here.
I tried my hand at 3 different monogram cards. I have ideas for 2 more, but alas don't have the time to do them. Aack! Who knew Monograms could be so inspiring??
My first 2 projects I were made with the intentions of entering them into additional challenges, SSS White-on-White challenge and CASology's keyword "Flame" challenge. However, I did not plan ahead to realize those challenges would be done and over before today! hahaha! Oh well. :)
My first card was created with the "Flame" keyword challenge in mind. It uses all PTI supplies with a little glossy accents on the letter die-cut.
My second card was created with the White-on-White challenge in mind. I de-bossed the card panel with some stitched rectangle dies, popped-up a clear, heat-embossed PTI frame die-cut with the herringbone background stamp using foam dimensionals, and added the bling-covered Headline Alphabet die-cut letter.
A close of up that blinged-out monogram:
My last card today will end up being part of a notecard set for my DD's teacher. We just love her teacher this year and have been trying to spoil her with lots of handmade goodies. We've received lots of thank you cards from her this year and thought we might gift her a notecard set to replenish her supply.
My DD's teacher is Italian and has a cooking theme for her classroom. I found this great recipe box at the Target dollar spot that came with recipe cards. I thought it would make the perfect notecard gift box! I cut off the decorative strip from the bottom of the recipe card and used it as a border on my card. I used a rustic white card base topped with Pure Poppy gingham PP cut at an angle, adhered the border strip from the recipe card, and stamped the monogram using the Headline Alphabet set. I thought the monogram looked a little plain, so I stamped a couple of dots from the Ikat stamp set on either side of it.
Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
These are all great! I especially love the bling monogram, white on white card!
ReplyDeleteI am also your newest follower and would love for you to come visit and follow my blog. I look forward to seeing more of your creations.
ReplyDeleteWow, all three are beautiful and each so different. The kitchen one is very cute I love the gingham. The white is also gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove your 'flame' card.
ReplyDeleteThese are all wonderful--I think my fave is the one with all those stitched rectangles layered.
ReplyDeleteAll your projects are fabulous. My favourite is the first ikat card. I wish I ordered that set. Looks so beautiful on your card. - Irma
ReplyDeleteGreat projects! They are simple and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe are thinking alike! I used Ikat too on mine, lol! I love your cards! Especially your flame! Super fun!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSo elegant, white on white.
ReplyDeleteWTG! Looks awesome -- all of them!
ReplyDeleteYour first card is so wonderful, using the ikat! But your second card made me almost squeal out loud--- I LOVE the initial in the framed out 12 diecut! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and so different from each other! Teacher will love her set!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful! I especially love the modern look of the ikat card...it's a really neat twist on that set. Great inspiration--thanks for sharing! I'm pinning these!
ReplyDeleteALL just FAB! LOVE your second card best though!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards, all of them! I especially like the white one; many fun details. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAll three are just great. I've had my eye on the stitched rectangle die...glad to see what it really looks like in use. It was so clever of you to cut off the recipe card design and use it for your notecard. She'll love it!
ReplyDeleteThree great, very different cards - love the flame inspired Ikat and the bling K!
ReplyDeleteEach one of your cards are delightful and beautiful! The last one will be treasured by your daughter's teacher. I was in the same boat and found I ran out of time to create as many cards as I did ideas. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove the the variety of your cards. The first one caught my eye immediately...such a clever card for the "flame". (Though I've read some of your comments and its so fun to see how different cards appeal to different people...the best is that they're all appealing. :) ) And I think the teacher is going to love the last card...what a clever idea to use the recipe cards/box.
ReplyDeleteThe blending in your first one is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the bling bling with personal style, so it would be natural that I'd be drawn to it on greeting cards. Love that white-on-white.
