PTI 7th Anniversary: Timed Challenge

Today I am playing along with the festivities for Papertrey Ink's 7th Anniversary.  Nichole challenged us to select 7 products to use for a project within 7 mins. and then create our project within 17 mins.  I'd never done a timed challenge before, but thought this one would be doable.

I knew the design would have to be fairly simple in order for my slow-poke crafty behind to get it completed in 17 mins.  So, right away I knew that I wanted to case a set of notecards I nearly bought from the Target dollar spot.  I knew I could make some myself for cheaper than $1 - how's that for thrifty?  haha!

I chose these 7 products for my card:  Watercolor Wonder & Live Love Life stamp sets, New Leaf & Limeade Ice inks, Stampers Select White card stock, Versamark ink and white embossing powder.

Selecting my products was pretty quick at less than 4 minutes … most of the time in finding the right sentiment to use.

I used both green inks to stamp the brush stroke image, then used my embossing buddy before stamping the sentiment with Versamark ink and embossing in white.  Most of the time was taken with removing the stray specks of white embossing powder.  My time:

That was quick!  So, while my supplies were already out, I decided to go ahead and make a couple more cards in other colors to make a set.

My time for all 3 cards:

I would have had it done in less than 17 mins., but I forgot about the timer and put away my embossing powder before I remembered to put a stop to it!  Ah, yeah.  I did mention that I'd never done a timed challenge before, right?  At any rate, I managed to get the first card done in less than 17 mins. and that's all that matters for this challenge, so it's all good!  :)

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
